A commemoration was held August 17, 2025 to honor the 250th birthday of Charles Osborn at the Baugher Center in Chesterton IN. Osborn was one of the first pioneers of American Abolition, an eminent Quaker minister, an organizer, journalist, and publisher. A rededication of a refurbished plaque and his headstone (long held at the Porter County Museum, and now replaced) was held earlier at his burial site at the Quakerdom Cemetery in Jackson Township, Porter County, IN.
A program on the Underground Railroad in Northwest Indiana was given by Dr. Larry McClellan, of Governors State University. Subtitled videos of the program are available to view here. Subtitles were generated automatically by machine. |
