1. Lake County Marriage Registration Book Project

Description: NWIGS is creating an index of the Lake County, Indiana marriage books from 1837-YYYY comprising XXX books. The project includes extracting names from images of the handwritten books, proofing the extractions, and making corrections. All work is done at home saving and transporting the work on thumb drives. The final product is listed on the NWIGS Website at https://www.nwigs.com/lake-co-marriage-index.html.
Status: Books 1-85 are finished and online. Books 99-100 are in the correction process.
Needed: Volunteers needed for extraction and proofing.
2. Cemetery Every Name Index
Description: Cemeteries in Lake and Porter County have been indexed from 1836 - 1998. An updated index from 1999 to 2025 needs to be created. All work is done at home using Excel.

3. TWIGS Every Name Index
Description: The NWIGS newsletter is published bi monthly. The newsletter index contains every name (over 32,000) used in the TWIGS newsletters from June 1978 through May 2006. The index needs to be updated from July 2006 to the current issue. All work is done at home using Excel.
